Ortega, Sidney February 12, 2009 Period 4-5 I Want a Dog
For this essay I will use my little cousins Casandra (4 years old), Ashley (2 years old) and their older disabled sister Angie (6 years old). I’m using them because Casandra wants a puppy. That's why I'm using their situation.
Dear Mom and Dad,
I love puppies and dogs, so I want a puppy. But, You don’t want me to have one. So, I’m going to give you reasons why we should get one. A puppy will be a great addition to our family. It will be fun for us to have a puppy. The puppy will teach me responsibility. We can also be comforted by it. If the puppy becomes big like a Golden Retriever it can guard our apartment.
The puppy will be fun because puppies play a lot and that will keep me in shape. The puppy will teach me how to be responsible by me feeding it, taking out for walks, and taking it a bath. It can comfort us when we’re alone or when we’re on the couch watching TV. When the puppy gets older it can guard our apartment and our belongings.
I know you will make arguments about keeping a puppy. I will list and answer those arguments. Mom: You can have a puppy because it will leave presents everywhere. Me: Cleaning up after the dog will teach me responsibility. Dad: The food and the vet cost too much. Me: We can find a place where they sell cheap dog food and a good vet that has a low and reasonable prices. Mom: The dog will be covered in dirt. Me: I can give the dog a bath, so it won’t be stinky and dirty.
If we get a puppy it can comfort us on the couch when we are alone. The puppy will play a lot with me and keep me in shape. If its a breed that ends up being big it can protect our apartment. It will also teach me responsibility because I have to feed it, take it a bath and take it for walks. And if we want to save money we can look for good deals for dog food and low prices from the vet. So, Mom and Dad have I convinced you about getting a dog.
